During the cesarean section, Emma did not want to come out. She was enjoying her cozy little bubble.
As the doctor was trying to pull her out, Emma was breathing in a good amount of the fluid, and as a result, got a lot in her lungs. She wasn't breathing well, so after about 2 minutes giving Mommy and Daddy kisses, she was rushed to the NICU.
Ryan was able to see Emma in the NICU.
He was also able to take 1 grandparent at a time to see Emma as well.
Everyone else got to see Emma through a window...and that was only when the nurses were feeling nice enough to open the blinds.
Finally, Mommy was able to hold and feed Emma a bottle 2 days after she was born!
It was a long 2 days not being able to hold and care for our daughter. We were definitely starting to get cabin fever stuck in the hospital room.
On Sunday, the family had planned to leave in the late afternoon. There were no plans to release Emma anytime soon, so everyone, except the grandmas, reluctantly left to go home.
Then at around 4:30, we heard a knock on the hospital room door, and in came a nurse wheeling a bassinet.
Emma has been released from the NICU, and she is finally ours!
